The IoT is not new or novel, but simply the next wave of an industry trend that has been successively connecting people, systems and things for over a century. We will discuss this progression, review past solution patterns, and reflect on the learnings of PLAT.ONE, a leader in connected industry solutions for over 30 years.
Ken Forster is the COO for PLAT.ONE, the first enterprise-grade IoT application platform. He was formerly a Managing Director for ThingWorx, which was sold to PTC in 2014. He has been building ‘connected’ products, services and businesses for over 25 years with senior leadership roles at Syngenta, Coca-Cola and Philip Morris. He has also co-founded three industrial automation companies and was an early leader in open architecture control systems at Lockheed. Ken is an active investor in Industrial IoT companies, resides in Zug, Switzerland, and spends about half of his time in Silicon Valley.
